What is Sexual Exploitation in Arizona

Under Arizona Law, sexual exploitation involves recording or photographing visuals of a minor engaged in a sexual act. It may also include distributing, selling, purchasing, transmitting or even just possessing these visuals of the exploitative behavior.

Sexual exploitation involves the exploitation of a minor.  It can be private or commercial.  The number of images involved plays a large part in these cases as well as the nature of the material and age of the victim(s) involved.  The involvement of the defendant in the production of the material is also an important element.

Cases like this can be extremely hard to defend if you don’t have the right counsel by your side. Charity Clark has worked on many sex crimes cases and understands how to navigate the intricate details of each one. She takes the smallest pieces and creates a big argument in your favor.

Sexual Exploitation Charges & Penalties in Maricopa County

Maricopa County takes a few things into account when charging somebody with sexual exploitation. These factors include:

  • The nature of the exploitive material
  • If the victim is under the age of fifteen
  • The number of images located

For crimes against a minor, the court usually classifies sexual exploitation as a class 2 felony. This can result in the following penalties:

  • First Felony Offense - 3 to 12.5 years in prison
  • Second Felony Offense - 4.5 to 23 years in prison
  • Third Felony Offense - 10.5 to 35 years in prison

If it’s a dangerous crime (involving a victim under 15 years of age), you can face 10 to 24 years in prison per image involved in the exploitation.

Charity was amazing and took care of everything. She answered all my questions quickly and was so polite. They took care of my case with ease and definitely took a load off my shoulders. Not only did they both do great work they got the response from the court we were hoping for. Charity is "THE BEST".
